We want to give people the best possible clothing for any weather while preserving nature and environment. To achieve this, we developed our own sustainable shell series: cembra®.
We like its comparison to tree bark. The shell protects people just like the bark of a tree protects against the elements.
One particulary resilient tree is the Swiss stone pine. It braves any weather, is extremely hardy in the cold and can live over 1,000 years. PINUS CEMBRA is its latin designation. That’s how we came up with the name cembra® for the Maloja shell series.
Our goal is to deliver products with uncompromising, long-lasting protection in wind and weather. That´s why we test each of our products to their limits.
Technology & Sustainability
But when developing the cembra® series we cared about sustainability just as much as about functionality. When it comes to preserving nature and environment, we are just as unwiling to compromise.
The main material used for cembra®products is recycled polyester.
All cembra® products are treated with an environmentally friendly, PFC-free durable water-repellent finish.
cembra® RESIST, cembra® LIGHT, cembra® SHELTER and cembra® STORM materials are completely recyclable after use.
For us the cembra® shell series is a milestone on the path to an increasingly sustainable future.

cembra® RESIST is our most rugged 3-layer shell that provides reliable waterproof protection in the harshest conditions for mountaineering and freetouring. It is mainly made from recycled polyester. As a mono-component laminate it can be fully recycled after use.

Our lightweight 3-layer shell is the ideal companion for ski tours throughout the whole winter. Products made with cembra® LIGHT bring together lightness, breathability and freedom of movement without compromising on reliable waterproof protection. It is partly made from recycled polyester. As a mono-component laminate it can be fully recycled after use.

Our most breathable, stretchy 3-layer shell for intense activities like cross-country skiing, ski touring or cycling. Due to its innovative membrane technology with fibre-based mesh structure it combines outstanding moisture management (transports moisture 30% more than comparable 3-layer products) with maximum wind protection.

cembra® STORM products are versatile companions, particularly suitable for windy conditions or fast-paced sports such as cycling, cross-country skiing or ski mountaineering. The robust yet soft and elastic material effectively blocks any drafts while remaining highly breathable. Light rain or snow pose no issue for the mono-component laminate.
