Power to the kids
Almost 40 years ago, musician Herbert Grönemeyer advised society to let children take power for a change. No sooner said than done. The result? The loudest day of the year. The biggest chaos in the office. The widest smiles at the end of the day.
The Day of Repentance fascinates us every year. When schools in Bavaria close but parents still have to work, we fill this childcare gap, at least for ourselves, with an unusual idea. Everyone simply brings their little ones to the office, and we all have a wonderful day together at Maloja!
In the end, there were almost 30 children who turned our headquarters upside down. Creative workshops with our design department, baking gingerbread under the guidance of our chefs, and a toy bazaar where books and toys could change children's rooms.
However, one thing was new this year. Because the children themselves have grown up with the idea of Children's Day. And so the oldest ones – some of them clearly teenagers – organized their own station this year and supervised an exciting parkour course in the parking lot for the little ones to let off steam.
There's no question about it: children are an enrichment. And not only in our private lives, but also in the office. Maybe not “in power,” but certainly as an endless source of inspiration.
Dear children – it was great to have you all there!
